Service Call Fee

$50 flat fee

  • Covers travel to your location and the first 15 minutes of on-site personal time (for assessment, discussion, and planning).
  • This fee also applies if you’d prefer to have your guitar picked up for off-site work at my personal workshop (the Rabbit Hole).
  • If no further work is performed on site, this is the only charge.

On-Site Work

$75 per hour (1 hour minimum booking)
  • Time starts after the initial 15-minute consult .
  • Additional time billed in 15 minute increments ($18.75 per 15 minutes).
  • Services include: setups, lessons, troubleshooting, repairs, advice, and more—all performed at your location.

Parts & Strings

  • Strings: $15 minimum as needed
  • Parts: Quoted as needed

What’s Included in a MrGuitar Setup

Every setup includes a thorough, step-by-step process to ensure your instrument plays and sounds its best.

Setup includes:

  • Restring (strings not included in base price)
  • Tighten and lubricate all hardware
  • Clean and condition fingerboard
  • Cleaning of entire guitar
  • Adjust truss rod to correct neck relief
  • Adjust saddle radius to match fingerboard
  • Adjust action at bridge
  • File nut slots for proper string movement
  • Adjust intonation
  • Adjust tremolo bridge setting to player’s preference (parts not included)
  • Clean and test electronics
  • Replace battery if needed (battery not included)
  • Adjust or rehang loose wiring
  • Adjust pickup balance
  • Full inspection and play test
  • Lightly polish frets to remove minor scratches and corrosion

String Change

Fretwork
All fretwork is performed at the MrGuitar Shop (the Rabbit Hole) and requires a setup for best results.
  • Fret Edge Dress: $70
  • Heavy Fret Polish: $100
  • Full Fret Level & Heavy Polish: $200
  • Partial Fret Level: $15 per fret
  • Partial Refret – Unbound Neck: $30 per fret
  • Partial Refret – Bound Neck: $35 per fret
  • Glue Loose Frets: $6 per fret

Nut Replacement

All nut work requires a setup for best results.
  • 6-String Guitar: Premade $65 / Custom $110
  • 4-String Bass: Premade $50 / Custom $110
  • 12-String Guitar: Premade $90 / Custom $145
  • Classical Guitar: Premade $65 / Custom $110
  • Ukulele: Premade $50 / Custom $110
  • Locking Nut Installation: $45
  • 7 to 10-String Guitar: $20 per additional string

Electronics & Wiring

  • Basic Repairs (output jack, pot, selector switch, wiring, cleaning, battery box/clip):
  • Minimum charge: $25
  • Most work: $105/hr
  • Some services may have fixed rates—please inquire for a quote.
  • Pickup Installation (electric only):
  • Single or multiple pickups, specialty wiring, push-pull, active, etc.: Quoted case-by-case

Other Services

  • Machine Heads: Replacement, specialty installs, reaming/doweling/drilling—quoted case-by-case
  • Pickguards: Installations, drilling, tap plates—quoted case-by-case
  • Miscellaneous Installs: Strap buttons, humidity treatment, tremolo blocking, minor hardware installs—quoted case-by-case

On-Site Setup (1 hour):

  • $50 service call + $75 on-site work = $125 (plus strings/parts if needed)

Shop Setup with Pickup & Delivery:

  • $50 pickup + $95 setup + $15 strings + $50 delivery = $210
